In 1998, she joined Van Bael & Bellis. Stephanie Reinart's practice focuses on European and German competition law as well as on general regulatory law. She has secured merger clearance from the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) in numerous cases and successfully defended companies against allegations of their involvement in cartels and other anti-competitive practices raised by competition authorities, including the German Federal Cartel Office. In the field of European competition law, she has handled various international cartel cases in which she defended companies in proceedings before the European Commission and before the European Courts. Stephanie also represents companies in antitrust investigations of the European Commission (e.g. regarding patent licensing). She regularly advises clients on how to structure various types of agreements (including strategic alliances, cooperation, licensing and supply agreements) so as to ensure compliance with competition law requirements. Stephanie frequently counsels companies holding a dominant market position regarding the commercial conduct to adopt so as to avoid abusive behaviour (such as through pricing and rebate policies). In order to train company employees in the field of competition law, Stephanie has prepared numerous antitrust compliance programmes and assisted companies with their implementation, including by conducting training seminars for employees throughout Europe. She has co-authored several publications on competition law, such as the fifth edition of the Van Bael & Bellis handbook Competition Law of the European Community (2009), and written various articles related to competition law. |
