NewsBelgian Competition Council approves proposed acquisition by Tecteo of BeTV
Date: 07/11/2008Brussels - 7 November 2008 - The Belgian Competition Council approved on 31 October 2008 the proposed acquisition by cable operator Tecteo of pay television channel operator BeTV. Tecteo is the main cable operator in Wallonia and Brussels. The Competition Council gave the green light at the end of the first phase of merger control proceedings under Belgian law and did so after Tecteo had offered a number of commitments that will remain in force until the end of 2011.
